The Hungarian breeders made a point on achieving a difficult selection task based on well thought-out importations.
About 500 newborn puppies are officially registered every year but concurrently dogs are sold without any pedigree.
The good results obtained by Hugarian dogs during important international shows, stand as a proof of the excellent
overall quality of the Hungarian Collie stock. No need to envy other continental European countries for that
!
For instance, the dogs and bitches obtained the following results at the FCI World Dog Show 2001:
- Nyitramenti Internet, second in Youth Class Dogs
- Rineweld Awantgard at Sheewena: first in Youth Class Bitches (she is a daughter of F.CH. Ch Narwick Silver
Blue de Cathyja)
- Nyitramenti Igneous Lace: second in Youth Class Bitches
The following extract is a part of a Judit Papp interview, which
shows precisely the Hungarian breeders' state of mind.
" I named my kennel Silver Dream because blue merle is my favourite colour. My favourite dogs are Ch
Incredibly Blu di Cambiano and Ch Lynaire Chiquitita
in blue-merle, Ch Karava Kornishman and Ch
Tashadon Hot Chocolate in tricolour
I worked on Mybern lines, giving my preference to Ch
Mybern Merideon and his son Ch Troydon
Pebbalmyll at Mybern.
I saw Ch Myberns Movie Blue in Luxemburg in
1993. She made a strong impression on me. I don't think I have seen such a beautiful collie ever since. I also
used Brettonpark and Brilyn lines for sables."
Clubs Stars : The Best of the year
Just like many otherather countries, Hungary establishes a classification meant for best dogs and bitches.
?: This classification is made out from points given according to show results.... Beyond a limited amount of
points, a dog or a kennel is awarded with the title of club Star.
The possible awarded classes are :
- Young dogs/bitches "Junior Club Star" (80 points)
- Adult dogs/bitches "Adult Club Star" (250 points)
- Stud dogs/brood bitches "Club Star Stud Dog" and "Club Star Brood Bitch" (400 points)
- Kennels "Club Star Kennel " (600 points)
Only the first four placed dogs dogs in a show are given points, the fourth one getting one point, a maximum
a miximal amount of points (110 points) being possible during international shows with a dog/bitch winning the
CACIB, CAC or BOB. The title of International Champion is rewarded with 80 points.
The ceremony for handing over the titles takes place during the Show organized by one of the two Hungarian
Clubs, as they in turn organise this event once a year. the Club; no matter which one of both/the two as they
are alternatively/in turn in charge of it every other year.
